Welcome!
You can use Progressive Downloader in the following ways:
|
Integration with Browser
Progressive Downloader offers two ways to integrate with your browser: Complete Integration and Partial Integration. Both require installing a browser extension, which adds a convenient toolbar button to download the current page and a context menu item for downloading linked documents.
Complete Integration
With complete integration enabled, all downloads initiated in your browser are automatically redirected to Progressive Downloader.
- Seamless Experience: You never have to think about which file types are handled — everything goes through Progressive Downloader.
- Centralized Download Management: All your downloads are visible in one place, making them easier to manage, pause, resume, or prioritize.
- Better Performance for All Files: Benefit from features like segmented downloading and scheduling regardless of file type.
- Time Saver: No need to manually select or configure file types; it just works.

Partial Integration
With partial integration, only specific file types you choose are redirected to Progressive Downloader.
- Fine-Grained Control: You decide exactly which file extensions are handled by Progressive Downloader.
- Better for Casual Use: If you only download large files occasionally, you can keep most downloads within the browser.

Clipboard Monitoring
Progressive Downloader can monitor links copied to the clipboard. The mechanism is simple: whenever you copy text (by pressing ⌘+C or selecting Copy from the context menu) and it contains URLs, Progressive Downloader checks them. If the URLs point to files of the types you’ve previously selected, the app will display dialogs prompting you to confirm the downloads.
To use this feature, make sure the option is enabled and keep the app running at all times:
Add Links Manually
